Role Overview
Under limited supervision, the Senior Risk Specialist provides support for the development and implementation of the risk management programmes and risk controls framework within Liberty Asia. This role includes active participation in project work from a risk perspective, support for regulatory liaison and compliance relating to risk matters, supporting the Risk Manager Asia in the risk committee including in the risk reporting processes, developing and running risk training and awareness and overall providing guidance and support in respect of all risk matters.
Role Responsibilities- Analyse Corporate & Specialty and Retail risk policies and frameworks and propose changes on the combined entity’s risk policies and framework for Singapore and Hong Kong
- Analyse Corporate & Specialty and Retail risk assessment methodology and propose required changes for the combined entities in Singapore and Hong Kong
- Analyse Corporate & Specialty and Retail risk taxonomy, control library, ownership of risks and controls, and propose risk and control engagement structures for the combined entities in Singapore and Hong Kong
- Support establishment of revised risk reporting structure for the combined entities in Singapore and Hong Kong
- Support transition activities relating to Risk and Compliance Operating model change
- Contributes to broad Risk Management projects and other cross-functional projects, this may include participating in project teams; or include the implementation of IT systems, for Risk or across the broader business.
- Assists in risk management training across LSM Asia (and participate in the delivery of the broader Compliance training program).
- Promotes a risk aware culture through assisting in the development of written, internet, intranet and other communication strategies for risk issues and actively engaging with business unit managers.
- Contributes to an effective team environment by interacting professionally with all team members and providing development, support and assistance as required.
- Takes responsibility and shows initiative in the development of your technical and soft skills.

- Previous relevant experience in the General (non-Life) Insurance industry or financial institutions.
- Previous relevant experience in a risk management role with a thorough understanding of risk management, relevant legislation, audit and governance principles.
- Proven, strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations, in particular experience with Monetary Authority of Singapore and Hong Kong Insurance Authority regulations.
- Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars is required.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline essential.
